Clinical Need

Estimating operative bleeding risk before surgery may help clinicians plan more carefully. This project explored machine learning techniques for turning pre-operative patient data into a risk score.

The Model

Built in R using statistical and machine learning techniques, the prototype analyzes pre-operative variables to estimate bleeding risk. The interface emphasizes interpretable factor contributions instead of presenting an opaque score alone.
